When I saw the viral cat tours in Minneapolis and Toronto and realized there were none in Philly, I wanted to make it happen! Enter, Jawn in the Window, a cat (and dog) walk tour that goes around the Philly neighborhoods. It's a free tour that accepts donations - 100% going to a pet rescue local to that neighborhood. We learn about the pets you see on the walk and answer some trivia questions with small giveaways as we walk. I try to keep these walks to about an hour long with about 8-9 stops.
To date, we've visited 3 Philly neighborhoods (Grad Hospital, Point Breeze, & Fairmount) with plans to hit many more! These walks usually happen twice a year, in the Spring and Fall. Check out the FAQ for answers to questions everyone's been asking!

FAQ

When is the next tour?
I try to do one in the Spring and the Fall. Follow along on my Instagram for the most up to date info!
How do I participate to show off my pets?
I choose neighborhoods based on where I find the highest concentration of pets and interested participants. If you'd like your area to be considered, please fill out the form here. Because each neighborhood covers a large area, I can't guarantee that the tour route will pass directly by your home but submissions help me determine where to visit.
How do you choose what rescue you take donations for?
I pick a rescue local to the neighborhood. To ensure that all donations go to the rescue, I provide QR codes that link directly to the rescue's website/payment links. Nothing goes to me!
How can I join as a walker for the next one?
I share tour updates on Instagram and release free tickets about a week or two before each event. Because it's usually just me running the tours, I keep them small (around 30 people max) so everyone gets a chance to meet the pets, enjoy the experience, and stay together as a group.
How do I get the walk tour in my neighborhood?
I plan to visit most Philadelphia neighborhoods over time. The order depends on where I see the highest concentration of pets based on the locations submitted through my form. If you'd like your neighborhood to be featured sooner, encourage your neighbors to fill out the form too—the more pets I can plot in an area, the sooner I'll be able to create a route there.
