end of life sessions

Saying goodbye is one of the hardest parts of loving them. These sessions are especially meaningful to me because of my soul cat, Maggie. I never had the chance to take pictures with her before she passed and it's something I wish I had every day. Offering this service is my way of honoring her impact on me and giving you the chance to preserve your precious pet's memories. These sessions are free with no fee to me but I do ask that you donate (any amount) through a link that I provide. 100% of the donations will go to a local senior rescue at the end of the year.

When should i reach out?

Many wonder when the "right time" is for a session like this. There is no perfect moment but many people choose to schedule when they receive a poor diagnosis or begin noticing changes in their pet's health or routine. These sessions do not have to happen in the last days and scheduling earlier while your pet is still feeling well is encouraged. You can also talk to your veterinarian and visit the Tilly Project website to help make a decision.

How quickly can I schedule a session?

As I'm a full-time nurse, my availability can be mixed. I might be free as soon as the next day or not for weeks. Please reach out as soon as you can.

What happens during the session?

These sessions usually last around 30 minutes and include a mix of posed and natural pictures. My main goal is to make sure this experience is not stressful for your pet. There is absolutely no expectation for your pet to pose or perform.

Can family members and other pets be included?

Anyone that would like to be in the session is welcome. My primary focus will be on your pet but I can include individual pictures with you as well as other pets.

How many pictures will we receive?

I don't put a limit on the amount of pictures you'll receive. Anything that I deem good quality (not blurry/out of focus, etc) will be edited and sent to you via a gallery link in 1-2 weeks.

How do we donate?

You will get a link to donate with the gallery link. This link directs to my page and you can donate however much you'd like. Suggested donations are between $50-$100. At the end of the year, I take all the donations received through this link and donate to City of Elderly Love, a local senior pet rescue - in your pet's honor. As of 2026, I've been able to donate almost $3,000 to the organization.

What can I do to prepare for the session?

You don't need to do anything special for these sessions. However, if there are things that can help make the session less stressful for your pet like favorite treats or toys, please have them available.

How far do you travel?

I travel mostly by public transportation and balance nursing alongside my photography work. In order to respond more quickly and be fully present for each family, I limit these sessions to within 5 miles of the 19146 area code. If you are located outside that radius, please let me know and I can reach out to other photographers in the area. You can also search The Tilly Project website for photographers in your area.
